Jolie Misjudged Pretty Boy Pitt

Saturday, June 23rd, 2007

HOLLYWOOD - Angelina Jolie was left floored by Brad Pitt soon after they first met, because she thought he’d be nothing more than a good guy she could race motorbikes with on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

The actress quickly fell in love with the Hollywood hunk, who was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, and she admits she still can’t believe he is “more man than any man” she’s ever met.

She tells style magazine Marie Claire, “I wouldn’t have, from a distance, said, ‘That’s a man who would be an amazing, dedicated father,’ or, ‘That’s a man who truly loves helping people or whom I’d love to talk politics with.’

“He’s a lot more than people assume he is.”

Jolie credits her partner for helping her overcome periodical dark moments in her life–just by listening to her.

She adds, “I’ve had that problem in my life, where if I get emotional, I tend to just go (and) sit by myself. But he is a great listener, and he has given me wonderful advice.”

Jolie-Pitt Foundation’s Namibian Funds Materialize

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Although Brad and Angie’s promise of help for the country in which Shiloh was born was considered to be a lie by many, the Namibian government has come out and said that not only has the money been delivered, but that it was in process for months
The money has already been transferred to the Red Cross.
Red Cross Acting Secretary General Shannon Shroeder said in a statement that the allegations were not true, and that international monetary and tax regulations had been responsible for holding up the promised assistance.

One of the main donations is a sum of N$2 million donated by the couple for the purchase of new equipment to upgrade the maternity sections of the Walvis Bay and Swakopmund State hospitals.
“The Namibia Red Cross signed an agreement with the American Red Cross (acting on behalf of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation) for a transfer of funds between the two National Societies.

Looks like some good news for Angie and Brad, as they’ll finally get to see the people of Namibia have better hospital conditions. I’m sure this will get MUCH less attention than when they were first accused of not intending to follow through with the aid they promised.

Study confirms Angelina Jolie was right

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

You may remember that, a while back, Angelina Jolie came out saying that adoptive parents are more fit to raise their kids than biological parents. A new study published in the American Sociological Review appears to support her contention. The study found that adoptive parents spend more money on their kids, read to them more, are more likely to eat together, and even discuss their problems more.

“One of the reasons adoptive parents invest more is that they really want children, and they go to extraordinary means to have them,” says Indiana University sociologist Brian Powell, one of the study’s authors. “Adoptive parents face a culture where, to many other people, adoption is not real parenthood,” Powell added. “What they’re trying to do is compensate. … They recognize the barriers they face, and it sets the stage for them to be better parents.”

Adam Pertman, executive director of the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute, was appreciative of the study’s findings, but noted that “there are all sorts of families that are good for kids. Adoptive parents aren’t less good or better. They just bring different benefits to the table. In terms of how families are formed, it should be a level playing field.”

I think that parents — biological, adoptive, or any other sort — are the most important part of a child’s world. How they became parents, the struggles they faced, and any other facets of the parenting adventure are simply the flavors and spices that make each family unique. The important part — the meat and potatoes — is the love that families share.

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Leaving the US?

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

Many pundits and celebrity watchers alike believed that the only reason that Angelina Jolie resided in the United States most of the time was because she couldn’t bear to be away from her mother for too long. With the passing of Marcheline Bertrand is there anything now keeping Angelina and the unmarried father of her children Brad Pitt and the rest of the family here in America?

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt to Move Out of the US?

Likely - no. Even though they just purchased a home in New Orleans Jolie may feel it is time that the globe-trotting United Nations loving couple pack up and leave permanently only returning for visits to Brad’s parents. A report from Star Pulse seems to suggest that the family is on their way out.

The news blog reports that Angelina and Brad have indeed taken a step closer to moving to Europe permanently by buying an apartment in Berlin, Germany. The couple has been regular visitors to the German capital and has now taken ownership of a luxury 6,500 square-foot attic flat in what used to be East Berlin, according to the German edition of Vanity Fair.

According to the report, Jolie, who already has homes in the U.S. and an apartment in Paris, France, with Pitt - wants her adopted children Maddox and Zahara and her biological daughter Shiloh to grow up outside the Hollywood bubble.

The report also notes that Pitt is good friends with German architects Lars Krueckeberg, Wolfram Putz and Thomas Willemeit, who designed his house in Los Angeles.

Angelina Jolie, Not Jennifer Aniston Among Top 10 Most Desirable

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Angelina Jolie is more desirable then Jennifer Aniston, according to an AskMen.com poll. In the ongoing battle of who is better looking or desirable, Angelina Jolie defeats Jennifer Aniston in this round.
The Top 99 is an annual list compiled by the readers and staff of AskMen.com, ranking the famous females deemed to be the year’s most alluring.

Since the first edition launched in 2001, more than 40 million readers have checked out AskMen.com’s Top 99 Most Desirable Women lists.

The voting process for this year’s edition of the Most Desirable Women list began reportedly in the fall of 2006, when a list of approximately 200 candidates was assembled. AskMen.com readers voted for their favorite nominees, and the website reports that they responded on a massive scale: More than 8.5 million votes were cast over a six week period.

Jolie was voted in the top 10 while Aniston made the top 25.

An explanation as to why Britney Spears’ name is nowhere to be found on the 2007 Top 99 seems a bit unnecessary. Her excessive partying, panty-less paparazzi shots and trailer-park inspired getups, have catapulted Britney off the list, says the website.

Beyonce Knowles was voted the Most Desirable Woman of 2007. Screen siren Scarlett Johansson jumped from 28th place to second this year, while last year’s winner Jessica Alba finished third.

Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima and actress Jessica Biel also made the top five.

Rounding out the top 10 were Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, singer Shakira, TV host Maria Menounos, Angelina Jolie - who slipped from third to ninth place this year - and ‘24′ star Elisha Cuthbert.

More than 8.5 million votes were cast in a poll to find the woman who best embodies the qualities of a “fantasy girlfriend”.

Top 99 Most Desirable Women 2007 top 10:

1. Beyonce Knowles
2. Scarlett Johansson
3. Jessica Alba
4. Adriana Lima
5. Jessica Biel
6. Alessandra Ambrosio
7. Shakira
8. Maria Menounos
9. Angelina Jolie
10. Elisha Cuthbert

Angelina Jolie Praises Single Mothers

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Angelina Jolie has lavished praise on single mothers, insisting she wouldn’t be able to cope without the support of boyfriend Brad Pitt and their crew of hired help.

The Oscar winner has two adopted children with Pitt - Maddox, five, and Zahara, two - as well as their biological daughter Shiloh, who was born in May.

She says, “Well, we have the finances to have support, and that’s the truth of it. Any single woman on her own with kids… God bless her, because that is hard. I have Brad helping me and we have a lot of people, even just at airports, helping us get through. We do have a lot of support, so we’re very lucky.”

Marcheline Bertrand, actress and mother of Angelina Jolie, has died of cancer, her daughter said Sunday.

Bertrand died Saturday afternoon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after a 7 1/2-year battle with cancer, Jolie said in a statement released by her manager. No age was provided.

Jolie, Brad Pitt and her older brother, James Haven, were at the hospital Saturday, the statement said.

Bertrand, who had small roles in the movies “Lookin’ to Get Out” in 1982 and “The Man Who Loved Women” in 1983, raised Jolie and her brother after divorcing their father, Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight, when Jolie was a toddler.

A private funeral was planned.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Women’s Cancer Research Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Brad Pitt wants to have lots more children

Friday, October 6th, 2006

Brad Pitt wants to have lots more children so he can have his own soccer
team.
The ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ actor - who has two adopted children, Maddox, five,
and 19-month-old Zahara, as well as a biological daughter, Shiloh Nouvel,
with partner Angelina Jolie - is determined to have more offspring and form
his own ‘Pitt’s 11′ team.
He is quoted by Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “I’m not joking
around! I have three kids now and next year I’ll have six. Nine. We’re
looking for a soccer team. I want to compete in the next World Cup.”
Brad also admitted he thinks that fame and celebrity have a
negative effect on actors.
He said: “We are treated like something special and it’s easy to start
thinking you really are special. It’s a dead-end personally. I’m put on this
pedestal. I have to be careful not to buy into that image.”

Maddox Jolie-Pitt to bend it like Beckham

Friday, October 6th, 2006

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son Maddox will not walk mommy and daddy’s footsteps. Instead, the five-year-old has taken his first step towards kicking and running his way to glory. And helping him bend it right is none other than soccer superstar David Beckham.

Maddox has already been enrolled in the David Beckham Soccer Academy in Los Angeles and has been showing promise.

But papa Pitt is keen on exclusive lessons for his adopted son. “Brad has asked if there is any chance of David giving a one-on-one tutorial,” a source close to the development has been quoted as saying.
