Angelina the naked seductress

Sunday, November 25th, 2007

Source

ANGELINA Jolie may have taken on some extreme roles in the past, but seeing herself for the first time as a naked, gold, reptilian seductress in the new computer-animated movie, Beowulf, still took her by surprise.

“I got a little shy,” she laughs.

“I didn’t expect ourselves to come out as much, or it to feel as real.

“So I called home and explained the kind of fun movie that I had done - and that this digital animation was, in fact, a little different than what we were expecting.

“I was really surprised that I felt that exposed.”

Beowulf is an action-packed blockbuster, created on computer graphic imagery (CGI), based on a mythical, centuries-old tale.

It chronicles the exploits of the mighty warrior Beowulf (Ray Winstone), who kills the demon Grendel, only to incur the hellish wrath of the beast’s ruthlessly seductive mother, played by Jolie.

All actors had to have their bodies “mapped” so they could be recreated in CGI as animated fantasy characters and creatures.

Three months pregnant during the two-and-a-half days she spent on this film - which included having her body mapped for computer-generated imaging - Jolie hugely enjoyed her demonic role in this tale of vikings, power and lust.

“I’ve got kids and I thought: ‘This is so great - I am going to be this crazy, reptilian person and creature’,” she says.

“I was very excited. She is one of those fun characters. She’s evil. She’s temptation. She is just one of those fun characters to play.”

The actress in Jolie wanted the opportunity to work in the unusual and up-and-coming film-making style of CGI.

Director Robert Zemeckis created the film using a motion-capture computer program.

The actors worked in an empty room, wearing nothing but body suits covered with hundredsof yellow dots.

Those dots were used to record the information needed to make the animated version of the actor’s performance.

The role also gives 32-year-old Jolie another diverse film credit, on a resume that already includes Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Shark Tale and A Mighty Heart.

Jolie says she was excited about the opportunity to work with Zemeckis, the man behind such films as Back To The Future and the first full-length CGI film, The Polar Express.

In fact, she was so excited about the opportunity that Jolie was agreeable to anything that was tossed her way.

“I was told I was going to play a lizard. Then I was brought into a room with Bob and all these pictures. He showed me this picture of a woman, half-painted gold and then a lizard,” Jolie says.

Who wouldn’t want to play a role that, at times, is a green, slimy creature who lives in the water _ and at other times looks like a Victoria’s Secret model, who forgot to dress for work?

The character in the animated film is a lizard-like shape-shifter, which takes on a revealing human form when she tries to seduce Beowulf.

In an interview, the Tomb Raider actress revealed that she has a long list of things she wants to do, including spending more time with her family, giving her home a makeover, and finding an enjoyable sport to play.

However, Angelina’s husband Brad Pitt has teased her by saying that she will not start work again until she turns 90 - because her list is so long.

The couple recently finished shooting their new film Wanted in Prague.

When 007 met Jolie

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

What happens when James Bond meets Angelina Jolie and have sex? We’ll only know in the next Pierce Brosnan movie… the sequel of the Thomas Crown Affair.

News reports say that the two share fiery sex scenes… similar to the original movie where Brosnan is seen in highly-charged sex scenes with Rene Russo.

The Topkapi Affair won’t start shooting until late 2007, when Jolie will finish the shooting of her latest flick… ‘Wanted’.

A source is quoted by Britain’s The Sun newspaper as saying: “Pierce is keen to turn the ‘Thomas Crown’ films into a long-running series of movies. He believes the Crown character has the potential to have the same appeal as Bond, especially with a beautiful leading lady like Angelina.”

Native American Activist’s Life Story Released To Honor Angelina Jolie’s Mother

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

The documentary Angelina Jolie’s late mother Marcheline Bertrand executive produced before her death last month is to be rush released on DVD as a tribute to the actress.

Trudell follows the lifestory of Native American poet and activist John Trudell, who famously burned an American Flag on the steps of the FBI headquarters in Washington, DC, while protesting the US government’s policy on American Indians in 1979.

Following the protest, Trudell’s pregnant wife and three children were killed in a suspicious arson fire on a Nevada reservation.

The activist then spent the next four years driving across America in a car given to him by his friend and fellow activist Jackson Browne, honing his craft as a poet. He released a protest album with Browne in 1983.

The film, which won acclaim at the Sundance Film Festival, features interviews and tributes from Val Kilmer, Robert Redford and Kris Kristofferson, among others.

Meanwhile, Jolie, who is also credited as an executive producer on the film, was so touched by Trudell’s story she agreed to help produce his current album, Bone Days.

Angelina Jolie Wants To Be The First ‘Girl Bond’

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Angelina Jolie has reportedly decided that she now wants to star in a James Bond movie - playing either an evil villain or the first female Bond superspy.
If you recall, Angelina Jolie was considered for the role of Casino Royale Bond girl Vesper Lind, eventually played by Eva Green, but she was pregnant with daughter Shiloh Nouvel and had to withdraw.

There was much excitement at the thought of a Jolie - Craig reunion; they co-starred in the first Tomb Raider movie.

Jolie insists it’s still an ambition: “I’d love to be a Bond villain or the first female Bond.” And what a great female superspy she would make.

Angelina Jolie In Talks for Sin City 2?

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

During a recent interview with Angelina Jolie for The Good Shepherd, we actually got to buttonhole her about the persistent rumors that she was indeed going to be in Sin City 2. Here’s what the much sought after actress had to say…

Frank Miller has stated publicly that he wants you for Sin City 2. Have you spoken to him?

Angelina Jolie: We talked about it and I read the comic. I don’t think the film is being made at this moment. When it’s actually going to be made I’m sure we’ll talk about it. It was a funny thing, because the idea came to me when I was pregnant. I’ve been Clover, depressed and quiet, and then I was feeling very maternal, pregnant. It was this idea of this sexy, violent, and loud character. I thought maybe after I’m pregnant it would be nice to do.

Do you know when it might shoot?

Angelina Jolie: I don’t know when it might go and if I have time when it does, but I like the comics and I love him as a director, so it’s possibility.

More details on Sin City 2 coming soon.

Pitt and Jolie launch Mr and Mrs publicity

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have had so much publicity in recent weeks, it’s hardly necessary for them to go out promoting their new movie, Mr and Mrs Smith.

But the pair turned up in the Big Apple on a PR blitz. The pair booked into different, but nearby hotels. There were no joint appearances and the few interviewers allowed anywhere near the stars were allowed no personal questions.
