Jolie’s proclamations came to E! Online at the Producer’s Guild Awards, which saw The Artist run away with the top honor of best film. She said “I still love acting-if I can find those roles that matter. But if I don’t, it’s nice to be able to shine the spotlight on another actress you think is extremely talented and give her the spotlight.” Selfless words indeed from Jolie, and a stark difference from the following quote, given recently to Cbs after the completion of In The Land Of Blood And Honey: “I didn’t plan to become a director, and I still have trouble saying I’m a director, I just wanted to tell this story and I ended up, by default, being the director. It was a pleasure but I wonder if it would be a pleasure with another cast and crew, and a subject matter that wasn’t so special.”

The five-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is known for her tomboy habits and is now said to have asked her family to call her ‘Shax’ because it is similar to the names of her siblings Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, and three-year-old Knox. A source told National Enquirer magazine: “For a while Shiloh had everyone in the family calling her Ben for some reason but she grew tired of that. “These days she’s decided she wants to be known as Shax because Maddox, Pax, and Knox’s names all end in the letter X. “Angelina and Brad are going along with it and think its cute.” Angelina has previously revealed that Shiloh always wants to be like her brothers. Nobody gives a gift quite like Angelina Jolie. The In the Land of Blood and Honey director, 36, purchased a waterfall in California for longtime love Brad Pitt, according to The Daily Mail. The grand gesture served as both Pitt’s 48th birthday and Christmas presents. Pitt, who has six children with Jolie, is planning to build a house over the waterfall inspired by his favorite American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. “Brad has dreamed of a home with the sound of a waterfall cascading under the house,” a source tells the site. “He wants to pull all aspects of nature, light, glass and varying levels into the concept.” Jolie’s gift couldn’t have come at a better time, given that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi recently bought the couple’s former Malibu abode. “Angelina wanted to get him something incredibly special and, because she knows how much he loves architecture, she thought this would be perfect,” a source tells The Daily Mail. “This is the present to top all presents.” The home will reportedly be similar to Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, which was completed in 1939 in Pennsylvania on a similar piece of land. Actress-turned-director Angelina Jolie has been working on a story inspired by her late mother but insists she will “never show” the project to anybody.The Tomb Raider star stepped behind the camera to make her directorial debut with In The Land Of Blood And Honey, a film she penned herself about a romance between a Serbian soldier and a Bosnian woman. Now Jolie reveals she has also written a tale about her beloved mum Marcheline Bertrand, who died in 2007, but refuses to make it public. She says, “I’ve also written a story about my mother after she passed. They are things I will never show anybody but it is nice to spend time with people and characters in this private world.” The Hollywood star recently admitted she has also put pen to paper for a script about Afghanistan, but maintained she lacks the “confidence” to put it into production.

The Salt star’s mum, Marcheline Bertrand, lost her battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 56 in January, 2007 – just shortly after Jolie brought home her second adopted baby, Zahara. And the actress is certain the timing of her passing is no coincidence, revealing her ailing mother fought through the pain of chemotherapy just so she could see the star’s children – Maddox and Zahara – and die confident her daughter’s life was on the right track as a person and a mum. She tells Marie Claire magazine, “I don’t want to get emotional. I wish she were here. I am never going to stop missing her. My mom was born to be a grandmother; she would have just loved it. “She did meet some of my children, and she was fantastic. Maddox still remembers everything about her… As soon as Mad came home, I think she knew that everything was going to be all right.”

Angelina Jolie has just signed with United Talent Agency, which will represent her as a writer and director. She doesn’t have an agent for her acting work. The signing comes after she made her writing/directorial debut on a Bosnia-set feature that is in postproduction. That untitled film was financed and produced by GK Films. She clearly wants to do more in that area, and UTA becomes Jolie’s first agency representation as a filmmaker. She continues to be represented in all areas by longtime manager Geyer Kosinski and attorney Robert Offer. “Angelina has a distinct and powerful creative voice, and having read her work and seen parts of the film she’s directing, we’re very certain that she’s entering a new and fruitful phase of her extraordinary career,” said UTA partner Rich Klubeck, who’s leading the team of agents representing Jolie’s filmmaking pursuits.

The actor explained that he would ”probably be in prison” if he had to cope with the same media attention that she does.
