Angelina Jolie has just signed with United Talent Agency, which will represent her as a writer and director. She doesn’t have an agent for her acting work. The signing comes after she made her writing/directorial debut on a Bosnia-set feature that is in postproduction. That untitled film was financed and produced by GK Films. She clearly wants to do more in that area, and UTA becomes Jolie’s first agency representation as a filmmaker. She continues to be represented in all areas by longtime manager Geyer Kosinski and attorney Robert Offer. “Angelina has a distinct and powerful creative voice, and having read her work and seen parts of the film she’s directing, we’re very certain that she’s entering a new and fruitful phase of her extraordinary career,” said UTA partner Rich Klubeck, who’s leading the team of agents representing Jolie’s filmmaking pursuits.

Johnny Depp has described his co-star Angelina Jolie as a “shockingly great” parent. The actor explained that he would ”probably be in prison” if he had to cope with the same media attention that she does. At a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, he said: “She is such a versatile, wonderful person who can portray anything. She is a down to earth, clever, funny woman and shockingly great mother. “She is very calm even if she’s surrounded by paparazzi. I don’t know what I would do [if I was in that situation]. I could’ve been in prison by now!” The 47-year-old, who has been in a relationship with actress-and-singer Vanessa Paradis since 1998, also joked that he has no recollection of the scenes he filmed with Jolie on The Tourist. When asked how he felt while performing raunchy scenes with the actress, he replied: “I didn’t tell my family that I was shooting the film. “I can’t remember, I wasn’t in it, I didn’t take the role and this film doesn’t exist. Angelina who? I can’t remember her name, so I’m clean.”

Angelina Jolie has commissioned an engraved diamond pendant for Brad Pitt. The pendant will be made by London-based jeweller Robert Procop, who is going into business with Jolie for her own range, The Style of Jolie. Procop told the Daily Mail “I can’t tell you what it says, and you would need a microscope to read it.” He added: “The technology is quite new. The hidden message is lasered on.” The pendant is based on Ancient Egyptian amulets that contain hidden messages, and is reportedly worth a six-figure sum.

Brad Pitt’s parents are moving in with him and Angelina Jolie. The actor is building an apartment in the grounds of his French estate for Bill and Jane Pitt, who will help raise the Hollywood couple’s six children. A source told The Sun newspaper: “The whole family is going to move there as soon as the renovations are done. At the moment they have six nannies – one for each of the kids – and the plan is to get rid of the helpers and rely on Bill and Jane. “The annexe they will live in is an old building which used to be used as a dovecote. It’s big enough to have a sitting room, kitchen and a couple of bedrooms. It will make a lovely little cottage for them.” Brad and Jolie are said to have asked his parents to live with them because they want a more stable home life for their children. “They don’t want them dragged around the world any longer,” said the source. “Brad is traditional and wants them to put down roots and have friends and go to the same school, rather than constantly moving. “They’ll pretty much retire from Hollywood for a while.” It was also reported that Johnny Depp convinced the couple to settle in Europe because it was the only place they could lead a “normal life”.

Reps for Angelina Jolie have denied rumors that she is in the process of adopting a child from Haiti. Reports had claimed that the actress was working to bring a 4-year-old girl named Leah home from the country after she lost her parents during the January 2010 earthquake. Spokesman Adam Waldman of Washington’s Endeavor Group told The Daily Beast: “Earlier this week, The Mirror and others reported that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are in the process of adopting a child from Haiti. There is no truth to these rumors. “Rather, Ms Jolie is focused on enhancing the welfare and legal protection of children within Haiti. As such, she has been meeting with government of Haiti officials, Haitian legal experts and non-governmental organisations regarding a new initiative of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.” The statement continued: “The recently-launched Jolie Legal Fellows Program will assist the justice system in Haiti to improve child protection.”

The 47-year-old actor stunned the brunette beauty’s styling team when he selected a blue Max Azria gown for his partner to wear at the Screen Actors Guild awards in 2009. Speaking about the fitting, Lubov Azria, chief creative officer of BCBGMaxAzriaGroup, recalled: “We were going to dress Angelina Jolie and we had a choice of three gowns with us. When we got there, she said she wanted Brad to pick. “There’s usually a staff of 10 people who all have an opinion. But Brad was very decisive. He’s an architect and likes geometric things. He chose the dress that everyone thought was backwards, and it was. He likes boat necks – that’s all she wears.” A boat neck – also known as a bateau neck – refers to a wide neckline that runs horizontally, front and back, almost to the shoulders. While Brad takes a strong interest in Angelina’s wardrobe, the 35-year-old actress has previously claimed she doesn’t worry about being fashionable as long as she feels comfortable. She said: “I don’t think too much about what to wear on the red carpet. Jon Voight has called on his daughter Angelina Jolie to join him for a visit to Israel. The Midnight Cowboy actor is currently in Israel as part of a fact-finding trip with former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. According to PA, Voight explained that he would “love to see” Jolie join him for a sojourn to the country in the near future to experience his “affection for Israel and the Jewish people”. “That would be a nice thing before I go,” he said. Jolie has served as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for nearly a decade, having visited flood-ravaged Pakistan and refugee camps in Sri Lanka on behalf of the organization.

Angelina Jolie refuses to buy jeans or t-shirts – because she’s convinced she would dress like a slob if she had a wardrobe full of casual clothes. The Tomb Raider star keeps her closet packed with dressy designer items to ensure she never steps out looking less than perfect, insisting she’s so busy raising six kids she has to force herself to make an effort with fashion. She tells Britain’s OK! magazine, “I actually don’t own a pair of jeans. This is an odd confession but I realised when I was into building our family, that if I had jeans and t-shirts in my wardrobe, it’s what I would end up wearing all the time with so many children. “So I had to kind of not have them, to force myself to not fall into that every day.”
