Angelina Jolie Lined Up For Monroe Role

Angelina Jolie is set to play Marilyn Monroe in a biopic about the iconic actress’ life. Andrew O’Hagan, who wrote the book The Life and Opinions of Maf The Dog, and Of His Friend Marilyn Monroe, confirmed the Salt actress would play the blonde bombshell in a Hollywood adaptation of his novel while speaking at the Edinburgh Book Festival. He also confirmed George Clooney would play Monroe’s friend Frank Sinatra in the epic. Christina Hendricks and Scarlett Johansson had previously been lined up to play Monroe. The book tells the story of the Some Like It Hot actress two years prior to her death in 1962 from the perspective of her dog Maf, given to her as a gift from Sinatra. Angelina had previously been mentioned as one actress lined up to play Elizabeth Taylor in a story about the British actress’ life, but Elizabeth scotched plans saying only she would be able to play her as she is still alive.

Star Angelina Jolie also wants to return and doesn’t have a commitment to another film as of now. Noyce also doesn’t have another film lined up at this time. Apparently, Sony wants to see how the film performs in international markets before moving forward with a sequel. The film will open in U.K., Germany and South American markets in the upcoming weeks.

Jolie enjoyed Salt fight scenes

Angelina Jolie has said she was in her element filming action scenes in new thriller Salt. “I’d done a lot of action movies but they were all based in fantasy in some way. This was the first time I got to do something based in reality and I think that makes all the action harder and softer and just a lot more fun,” she explained. “In most action films you have that one gun but in this one it’s everybody taking everyone else’s. I think I got to play with just about everything including a fire extinguisher in a way I had never used it,” the actress laughed. In the film the actress plays Salt, a CIA agent who’s on the run after being labelled a Russian sleeper spy, and she revealed she’s been left with a permanent scar from filming. “Oddly I got injured in one of the most ridiculously easy scenes in the movie, I had to just jump into a door and shoot sideways while I roll on the ground. “I rolled in to a desk and cracked my skull, it was bleeding and I have a little scar now on my head,” she revealed. At first Angelina even thought she’d lost her hearing in the accident. “I actually thought that I had some problems because I couldn’t hear anybody very well and I thought ‘oh my god’ but I’d forgotten I had my ear plugs in, I was fine!” she laughed.

Angelina Jolie Wanted James Mcavoy

Angelina Jolie was keen to work on Wanted when she heard James McAvoy had been cast. The 35-year-old beauty admits it was the casting of the Scottish actor which persuaded her to work on the project, because she though he was an “unusual” choice. She said: “I was itching to do something that was physical because I had done some emotional films and I had been at home with the kids. “I didn’t know that there was anything original out there until I came across this script. “Then I heard they were casting James McAvoy and I thought, ‘That sounds really unusual.’ Everyone thinks of him as this sweet, fun guy – which he is – but he’s also from Scotland, and that’s a tough place.” The Hollywood star also admits her character in the film, Fox, was “interesting” to her as she wasn’t “having fun”. She said: “Fox is not easy to be around. She was interesting to me because she isn’t the love interest and she isn’t having fun. She’s darker.”

Jolie and Pitt’s Hotel Romance

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie enjoy romantic dates in a hotel Jacuzzi. The couple and their six children are currently staying at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley, California, while the actor works on his next movie Moneyball and staff have treated their stay like a “military operation”. A source said: “We approached the arrival of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt — plus their kids and entourage — as if it was a military operation.” According to the insider, the couple regularly book the hotel’s spa facilities for personal use in order to have “romantic date nights”, while they are also happy to pay to have “Under repair” signs posted on the swimming pool so it can be closed for their kids to splash around in peace. In addition, despite the couple rarely seen in the public areas of the hotel, staff were reportedly ordered to remove any magazines with them on the cover from the lobby newsstand. The source told the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper: ”That pretty much cleaned out our celebrity magazines since Brad and Angie are on the cover of those magazines almost every week!” Brad, Angelina, their family and entourage occupy a whole floor of the building, and have had “anti-paparazzi” reflective material placed on all of the windows to maintain their privacy. In addition, the source reports that the Changeling actress – who is a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador – has been spending a large amount of her free time in the library at the University of California’ Berkeley campus doing research for a book about the international refugee crisis.
